A metal detector enthusiast who found a tiny gold brooch is celebrating after it was identified as a medieval piece of jewellery worth an astonishing £25,000.
The beautiful adornment, which is about the size of a pound coin, was unearthed by Stan Cooper just beneath the soil in a farmer’s field.
Mr Cooper, 60, was not sure what it was at first because it was covered in dirt, but after it was cleaned, he realised it was gold.
