Glastonbury Abbey finds prove town led the way in Saxon Britain's glass design

It may have been superceded by the blue glass produced in Bristol over the past thousand years but four centuries before th Norman Conquest, Glastonbury was at the forefront of glass-making technology.
Research led by the University of Reading has revealed that finds at Glastonbury Abbey provide the earliest archaeological evidence of glass-making in Britain.
